Community Partners
Where the world becomes part of our classroom
The result is the work we do in collaboration with a diverse variety of community partners in the cultural, business, and non-profit worlds to extend our student’s learning, related to their grade-level curriculum. These experiences expand both DPS curriculum and creative thinking skills in real-world situations outside the classroom. Students meet with multiple community partners throughout the year for multiple weeks, through a series of learning experiences within each organization.
Families will be asked to support these excursions and act as chaperones, but there is not a family fee associated with them. C3 has a Grant that funds all of our Community Partnership excursions and covers all admission fees, transportations costs, chaperones, and any associated supplies. DPS transportation, public transportation, buses, and light rail are used.
Time with community partners will extend classroom learning to the real world and allow creative exploration of concepts taught in school. We have opportunities throughout the year for parents to visit our community partners as well.
