Message from the C3 Administrative Team
Creativity Challenge Community (C3) opened in August 2012 as an innovation school in Denver with an amazing group of students and a dedicated staff. C3 is an elementary school offering kindergarten through fifth-grade classes at our shared Merrill Campus at 1551 S. Monroe St.
At C3 we have our own classrooms on the garden level and on the first floor. We share a library, gym, auditorium and lunchroom with Merrill Middle School. Our entrance is on the south end of Merrill where we have built two playgrounds and a learning garden. Students are very comfortable in our classrooms with new furniture and classroom technology. We offer visual arts, PE/Dance, and music for our specials classes. Students also work with technology in the classroom and visit the school library.
Throughout the week we focus on community and creativity. Grade levels each spend time throughout the year visiting with our community partners where we relate our classroom learning to real world experiences. Some of our community partners include The Denver Art Museum, Denver Botanic Gardens, History Colorado, the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, Greenway Foundations SPREE Program (South Platte River Environmental Education), the Clyfford Still Museum and 4 Mile House.
Students also participate in Curiosity Crews, choosing 6 week long passion projects 3 times throughout the year. These classes are taught by all staff, including the principal. Some previous offerings range from Masks around the World and Chess to Nature Drawing and Blocks.
To find out more about C3 we offer weekly tours beginning the third week of October every Thursday at 9 a.m. when school is in session. Please contact the school for more information about touring C3. Information regarding the DPS School Choice process can be found on the DPS school choice website http://schoolchoice.dpsk12.org/.
